It is the Council’s vision to build an organization
Pan capable of integrating all communities
African researchers in social sciences, regardless of their
geographic origins, linguistic or disciplinary. It is designed
in order to transcend the language barrier that separates
Lusophone researchers who speak French and / or English.
After three years of existence, the balance that we can do is positive.
The Portuguese became an official language of CODESRIA.
Since 2003 the participation of researchers from countries
Lusophone African activities of the Council has significantly
increased. The publication of documents and work in Portuguese
is becoming common practice within the Council; The
visibility and recognition of efforts for the CODESRIA
promotion of social sciences in the Lusophone community has increased
significantly; As the number of Lusophone (African and
others) interested in Council activities; Several agreements
to establish partnerships with institutions have Lusophone
been signed or being signed.
