The editorial team is welcoming you to the 18th Edition of this Newsletter. CODESRIA paid tribute to Prof. Elikia M’bokolo, an erudite African historian and a former member of the Executive Committee of CODESRIA. The event took place on Saturday October 24th 2015 in the premises of CODESRIA in the presence of other eminent scholars. We are also very pleased to announce Prof. Maati Monjib has suspended his hunger strike following a court decision to allow him to travel outside of Morocco. You will find in this newsletter his appreciation letter to the social science community represented by CODESRIA. Further in this issue, you will find a Keynote Lecture delivered by Dr. Ebrima Sall, the Executive Secretary of CODFESRIA during the National Dissertations Workshop Organized by the National Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS) of South Africa. The Newsletter also contains the Declaration adopted by participants in the conference on Bandung + 60 held in Jakarta and Bandung on 27-31 October 2015. This occasion marks 60 years of Bandung of 1955, a historic event that gave birth to the Non Aligned Movement.
