This 22nd Edition of the CODESRIA Newsletter comes your way with refreshing and interesting news reports and feature articles. On the occasion of the 86th meeting of its Executive Committee, CODESRIA organized a round table on the theme Youth, Democracy and Security with Professors Nkolo Foe (Vice President of CODESRIA) Slehedine Ben Frej (University of Tunis and CODESRIA’s executive committee member) and Bakary Sambe (Gaston Berger University of St. Louis) as the speakers. The roundtable, which was held on Thursday, 26 May 2016 in the premises of CODESRIA, was moderated by Prof. Pierre Sane (Founder of Imagine Africa and former Secretary General of Amnesty International). As part of the partnership between CODESRIA and the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Dr. Ebrima Sall, Executive Secretary of CODESRIA, was invited to moderate a round table on the 1994 genocide in Rwandan. Also, as part of efforts to make the Council more visible, CODESRIA’s Vice president, Prof. Nkolo Foe was the guest of pan-African television channel; Ouest TV. He talked extensively about CODESRIA, its vision, mission and objectives, as well as its achievements. Snippets from these interactions are featured here.
