The General Assembly is the highest decision-making organ of CODESRIA’s Charter. It is established by the Council’s Charter.
The Assembly meets triennially around a scientific theme. The discussions held during the Assembly constitute the nucleus around which the CODESRIA’s intellectual agenda is developed. During its triennial meetings, the Assembly elects the President, the Vice-President and Members of the Executive Committee and approves the composition of the Scientific Committee as proposed by the Executive Committee. Participation in the General Assembly is open to all CODESRIA members but only institutional and individual members who have paid up their membership dues are entitled to vote.
