Dr. Godwin Murunga, Executive Secretary of CODESRIA, paid separate visits to colleagues at the University of Dar es Salaam’s College of Social Sciences, the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique, and the Pedagogical University of Maputo in February 2023 to deliberate on a forthcoming multi-country collaborative project focusing on Academic Freedom and Social Responsibility of Academics.
The project, currently at its planning stage, is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and will look at the role of the university as the springboard for socially transformative ideas and actions in Mozambique and Tanzania.
