Discipline: Agricultural Sciences

Country / Pays: Togo

Project Title / Titre du projet: Indigenous Knowledge and Perceptions of the Effects of Climate Change on Crop Production and Their Varying Adaptation Strategies in Togo

Biographie / Biography: Current Occupation: Researcher & Project Officer (Climate-Agriculture Nexus)
Roles & Responsibilities: I spearhead research and implementation projects at the intersection of climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable agri-food systems. My core responsibility is to develop and promote agricultural practices that enhance resilience, productivity, and ecological sustainability. This involves conducting field and desk research to assess climate impacts on biodiversity and farming, designing climate-smart agriculture (CSA) and agroecological strategies, and authoring technical reports and policy briefs. I actively manage projects, coordinating with stakeholders from farmers to policymakers to translate scientific insights into on-ground action. A key duty is building capacity through training workshops for farmers and technicians on sustainable land management, soil health, and biodiversity conservation. Furthermore, I analyze data to monitor ecosystem health and agricultural outcomes, ensuring our interventions effectively mitigate climate risks while supporting food security and biodiversity. My work directly bridges academic expertise (from my PhD and MSc) with practical, scalable solutions for sustainable development.
