Born in Botswana, Maitseo Bolaane is Associate Professor at San Research Centre, University of Botswana. Prior to that she was a Senior Lecturer in the History Department of the same university. Her areas of specialisation are social history and African environment focusing on the intersection of nature and culture. She has published on community based national resources and management, game reserve policy, ecosystems and livelihoods in heritage sites and linkages between cultural and biological diversity. She earned her Master’s degree in African History at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and her PhD at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford.
