Biographie / Biography: I have been working as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe since 2018, in the Department of Languages, Literature, and Culture, located in Mount Pleasant, Harare. In this role, I teach a variety of Kiswahili linguistics and literature courses, contributing to the department’s academic mission. Additionally, I engage in various other academic duties as assigned by the Head of the Department, further supporting the department’s goals in promoting linguistic and cultural studies.
At the University of Zimbabwe, my current academic activities extend beyond teaching to include active involvement in research and departmental initiatives. My research focuses on Kiswahili linguistics and literature, with an emphasis on how language and culture intersect in shaping identity. I am looking forward to collaborating on projects that explore the role of African languages and literature in contemporary African societies, particularly in relation to cultural preservation and modernity
n my role as an Assistant Lecturer in Kiswahili Literature at the University of Zimbabwe, I immerse myself in the exploration of African indigenous knowledge, as it is intergrated into my teaching. This is because language and literature serve as essential tools for the articulation, transmission, and preservation of indigenous knowledge, and through my Kiswahili Linguistics and Literature courses, I highlight how these cultural systems are intricately woven into literary traditions
