Public Debate on Media and Citizenship

CODESRIA and the African Media Leaders’ Forum (AMLF) are happy to inform you of the organization of a roundtable on Media and Citizenship. The roundtable will take place on 7 November 2012 at the Great Hall of the Faculty of Medicine of Cheikh Anta Diop University (Dakar, Senegal). Communication professionals, researchers, members of civil society will present the role of media in the deepening of democracy. How do these media participate in the building of a citizenship and of an integrated, inclusive and modern Africa by giving voice to citizens and by informing them of local and global issues that concern them? How does citizenship in its new forms, invest media in their pluralities?
