Biographie / Biography: I am currently pursuing a PhD in African Literature, specializing in Kiswahili Literature, at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), which I commenced in 2024. I hold a Master of Arts in Kiswahili (2021) and a Bachelor of Education in Kiswahili, with a focus on both Linguistics and Literature (2017), both awarded by the University of Dar es Salaam. My research at the PhD level is in its second year, and I am currently engaged in data analysis for my dissertation.
I am currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), a constituent college of the University of Dar es Salaam. The college is located in Dar es Salaam, Temeke District, along Chang’ombe Road, Tanzania. However, I am currently on study leave to pursue my PhD at the University of Dar es Salaam – Main Campus, located in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where I am currently in my second year of study.
I am currently on study leave to pursue a PhD in African Literature, specializing in Kiswahili Literature, at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). I am a second-year student in the Department of Literature, Communication, and Publishing, within the Institute of Kiswahili Studies. Prior to my PhD studies, I served as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE), a constituent college of the University of Dar es Salam.
I have a deep passion for African Studies, particularly African Languages and Literature, which has been shaped by my early exposure to multiple African languages and cultural expressions. Fluent in both Meru and Swahili by the age of seven, I developed an early interest in oral literature, particularly the songs and performances by women at social events, which sparked my lifelong fascination with African cultural expressions.
