Project Title / Titre du projet: Spiritual and Religious Affect in Literary Criticism: Lessons from Indigenous Storytelling

Biographie / Biography: I work as a lecturer in the English Department at the University of Johannesburg. I teach a range of literary texts written in English, but my primary interests are in postcolonial and contemporary African and Afro-diasporic novels. I am responsible for teaching, assessments, and supervision.
I have published two journal articles from my thesis that respond to and explore indigenous spiritualities in conversation with Christianity. I have collaborated with two colleagues from the Religion Studies and Social Work departments to organise a colloquium exploring indigenous knowledge systems to challenge the episteme in higher education.
